Back on Track:
Hamburg Germany 27 & 28 of February 2010.
The Hamburger Tactica is the event that helped me to get back on track. Two days of fun and having a great time hosting plaster cutting workshops.
During these sessions I was able to pick up my sculpting tools once again after two years of not modeling.
Thanks to the enthusiastic attendees, I went back home with a big smile and a huge motivational boost. I guess I am ready to do some serious hobbying!
I decided to add this event on my "Events" page although I ony shot a handful of pictures. This convention however, was important for me because it made
me realize working with plaster, designing stuff, and casting it in resin is a whole lot of fun.
Thanks to all the great people I met there and I hope to see them again at Tactica 2011.
I walked along all the magnificent tables at the convention, not giving myself enough time to take pictures. I did however take a few as you can see below.
The "Nosferatu" table of Karsten is beautiful and not just because he used houses and ships that where carved by me (but it did help).
A few impression shot of the workshops I did.
During the two days I had to make something myself so I could show people what you can do with the proper materials and tools.
Karsten (the guy from the "Nosferatu" table) suggested a more organic type of structure. With no particular idea in mind I simply started
cutting away. I started with the door and worked upwards. The idea was to use diffrent types of structures in this piece.
By the end of the second day I had almost finished the piece and it was a good exercise.
I do not think this piece will end up in any project, but it was a lot of fun carving it.
